A native of New York City, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Anna K. Pettersen. She was a former employee of the Continental Bank in New York City.
She has been a resident of Arden for the past 35 years and was a member of the Skyland United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Murch is survived by her husband of 51 years, William P. Murch, her daughter, Janice Murch Bowen of Fletcher; her son, Philip W. Murch of Dallas, Texas and her sister, Helen Mitchell of Delray Beach, FL.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 10 at Shepherd Memorial Park conducted by the Rev. Ed Hillman.
Her family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 P.M. Thursday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road.
