Marjorie Mulvaney Hagan

Marjorie Mulvaney Hagan, 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at The Greens nursing facility in Hendersonville, NC.

An Asheville native, Marjorie was born on May 21, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Francis “Frank” Mulvaney and Annie Kathryn (Bradford) Mulvaney. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Robert Hagan, of Asheville; sister, Kathryn Mulvaney Allen, of Morganton; brother, Frank Mulvaney, Jr., of Canton; and brother, Joseph Bradford Mulvaney, of Asheville.

Marjorie was a graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School. After graduation, she briefly worked in Washington D.C. at the White House before returning to Asheville. She attended Blanton’s Business College and was employed by the City of Asheville in the Engineering Department. Later she was an administrative assistant for a local architect.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Ann Mulvaney Morris, of Weaverville; three daughters, Theresa Kenna, of Vale, NC, Fran Norman, of Boiling Springs, SC, and Paula Hamilton, of Asheville; six grandchildren, Trista Moritz, Leigh Dever (Jason), Heather Anderson (Lane), Amber Warner (Phil), Michael Moritz, Jr. (Amber), and MaryAnn Elizabeth Waddell (Chan); 10 great-grandchildren: Justin (14), Garrett (14), Jackson (14), Jake (13), Eli (12), Easton (11), Will (11), Wyatt (10), Emily (10), and Sutton (8); and several nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, at Groce Funeral Home, 1401 Patton Avenue, Asheville, NC. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
