Marshall Smith Misenheimer, Jr., 93, of 15 Beverly Road West, Asheville, died Wednesday, September 29, 2004, in an Asheville hospital. Mr. Misenheimer was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Marshall S. and Beulah Wilson Misenheimer. He served in the South Pacific with the Army Air Corps veteran during WW II and was a former painter with the Glenn Self Painting Co. He was a member of West Asheville Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife, Banks Hensley Misenheimer; three cousins, Charles Lingerfelt, George Wilson and Billie Best and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Archie Willis Gaines, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Cemetery. His family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and request that memorials be made to West Asheville Presbyterian Church, 690 Haywood Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
