Martha B. Chrisman

Martha Kate Ballinger Chrisman, 86, died Monday, January 20, 2003, in a Highlands, NC nursing center. Mrs. Chrisman was born in Buncombe County and was the daughter of the late William Israel and Martha Ann Reeves Ballinger. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Grayson Reeves Hall. She was a former bookkeeper for Proctors Shoe Store and was a former member of West Asheville Baptist Church. She is survived by her two daughters, Karen Marie Hall and Alice Ann Walker of Charlotte; a son, William Thomas Chrisman of Mills River; and three grandchildren, Rex Anthony Walker, Anna Kristin Walker and Barry Wade Hall. Graveside services will be at 3:00 pm Wednesday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Lewis officiating. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Groce Funeral home on Patton Avenue.
