Martha Carroll Owens, 86, of 16 Wedgefield Place, Asheville, died Friday, August 11, 2006, at Hospice Solace Center. A native of Etowah, TN, Mrs. Owens was the daughter of the late Dennis G. and Mary Taylor Carroll. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde A. Owens. Mrs. Owens was a member of Fruit of Labor Ministries. Surviving are one son, Allen Owens, of Asheville and one granddaughter, Makayla Nordine, of Hendersonville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Avenue with the Rev. William Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
