Martha Jean Hensley Ball, 68, died Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at her residence.
A lifelong resident of Buncombe Co., Mrs. Ball was a daughter of the late Hugh Thomas and Sarah Ingle Hensley. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Susan Fisher.
Mrs. Ball loved spending as much time as possible working with crafts. She attended West Asheville Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ball is survived by her husband, Donnie Ball; daughters, Melissa Boone and husband Ricky, and Donna Clark and husband Alex; and grandchildren, Brady Clark, Kirsten Boone Cochran, Joshua Clark, and Zachary Boone.
A memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 27 in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Jamie Johnson and the Rev. Jeff Hudson officiating.

Mom…you are the bravest person I have ever known. You fought for 7 years and never complained even though I knew at times you were in pain. I am the luckiest person to have you as a mother. You made sure I had everything I needed and was always there for me. My heart aches for you momma but now you are in heaven. You now can walk, talk and be with our heavenly father. I’m sure there was a great party for you when you arrived. God now has a special angel. I miss you so much but I will see you again in heaven and we can celebrate together. I love you momma!
