Martha Jean Watts

Martha Jean Watts, 69, of Candler, died on Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Miss Watts was born in Buncombe Co. and was a daughter of the late Daniel James and Thelma Christopher Watts. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Louise Watts. She was a former employee of Swannanoa Cleaners and of Deerfield Retirement Community. She enjoyed watching soap operas, working in the yard with flowers, and playing games and solving puzzles with her sisters. She is survived by her sister Hilda Watts, and their dog, "Baby." Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald Sprinkle officiating. Burial will be at Glady Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
