Martha June Metcalf Smith, 82, of Asheville, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015, at Fleshers of Fairview . Born in Madison County to the late James Carl and Anna Mae Rumbough Metcalf, she retired as supervisor with RCA; was a member of Grassy Branch Baptist Church and volunteered faithfully with ABCCM. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Bon H. Smith. Mrs. Smith is survived by daughters, Ann Cole (Stephen) of Asheville, Maria Bunn (Greg) of Clayton and Susan Blong of Dayton, TX; five grandchildren, Christy Andrews, Stacy Cole, Robert White, Jessica Davis, Bryan Dodd; and 9 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 10, at 2:00 p.m. at Grassy Branch Baptist Church. Rev. Ken Sausedo will officiate and entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bright Focus Foundation(for Alzheimers Research), 22512 Gateway Center Dr., Clarksburg, MD, 20871.

  1. My condolences to the family, I had the pleasure of knowing her daughter Susie, she talked about her often while going through SCUBA lessons with me. Susie is a dear friend and I know the hurt she is going through, my heart goes out to her and her family.
