Martha Marie Nichols

Martha Marie Nichols, 90, is now part of God's Heavenly family having passed September 28, 2008. Life was certainly full for her as she enjoyed her extended family of four daughters, 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She knew and loved them all. Born and raised in the city of Chicago, but soon after marriage she moved with her husband Orville, daughters Jeanne and Anne, to the outskirts, where another child, Nancy, was soon born. After years there, Orville was transferred to Michigan but by that time the children had started their extended families. Subsequent moves brought Martha and Orville to Wisconsin, and then to Ohio. They retired to Asheville, then to their daughter Anne's in Kentucky where Anne was a Hospice Nurse and later died of Lou Gehrig's Disease. Moving back to NC brought them to Fletcher where they joined the Fletcher United Methodist Church. Martha also is survived by her brother, Robert Pulling of Madison, Wisconsin and her sister, Emily Casper of Swannanoa. No services are planned.
