Martha S. Bradley Woody, 68, our loving mother, of 33 Reed Road, Asheville, died Tuesday, April 16, 2002, in an Asheville hospital.
Mrs. Woody was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Weaver and Jessie Smith Bradley. She was also preceded in death by a son, Kenny Grimsley and a brother, Sonny Bradley. She was employed as a nursing assistant at Stroupe’s Nursing Home.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie Woody; two daughters, Gail Allender of Olympia, WA and Shelia Woody of Asheville; two sons, Tom Woody of Swannanoa and Jeff Woody of Asheville; two sisters, Illene Sanders of Belvedere, IL and Mary Smith of Marion; one brother, Harold Bradley of Myrtle Beach, SC; and two grandchildren, Gabrielle Woody and Krystall Allender.
A memorial service will be at 5:00 pm Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family.

I am sitting here trying to remember my fondest memories of Martha, and all I can see is her laughing, sitting on the front porch of their house at Mountain Terrace. My mother thought the world of Charlie and Martha Woody, and Sheila was a very good fried when I was young. Mom, (Betty Merideth) Died July 16, 1983, I was 16 years old. So, I feel sure, that Mom and Martha have met up already and are having a blast! Laughing I am sure.
