Martha Waugh Wright

Martha Waugh Wright, 84, of Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Center, 1617 Hendersonville Road, No. 3204, died Thursday, February 5, 2004, at St. Joseph Hospital. Mrs. Wright was born in Statesville and was a daughter of the late Grier and Jane Miller Waugh. She was very artistic and was an accomplished cross-stitcher and a member of Arden Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, George Herbert Wright, Jr.; two daughters, Martha Jane Wright of Ohio and Janet Wright of Sydney, Australia; three sons, George H. Wright, III of Alabama, Edward Wright of New York and James Wright of Indiana; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 Sunday at Arden Presbyterian Church. Memorials may be made to Arden Presbyterian Church, 2215 Hendersonville Road, Arden, NC 28704.

  7. I was very saddened to hear of Martha’s passing. She will be missed by all. I always asked my Mom (Betty Zande) how Martha was and what was new. Mom always said something nice. Martha was a wonderful friend to my Mom and I enjoyed the visits from her when she was well. You all are in my thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time.
