Martina’s Family, When I worked in Wachovia’s Asheville Office she was Secretary to Frank H. Keener and after being transferred to the Charlotte office in 1962 I would still see her occasionally when I visited the Asheville operation. She was related to the Snelson Family in the Leicester area and her sister was a long time fixture at Mars Hill College. I did not realize she had moved to Givens. She was always a very loyal, efficient, capable associate at the bank. We are never ready to lose our loved ones and only our Faith and loyal friends can sustain us. We are thinking of you and just hope in some small way it does help to know others do care. Joe
Martina’s Family:I had the privilige of working with Marty during most of her career at Wachovia, and treasured her friendship. I missed her when she retired. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Cecil Tallent
I am very sad. Aunt Martina, always so special, pretty, good to us and fun to around. I’ll never forget the time she even brought Fritos and Blue Cheese dip to my dorm room. I loved her very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Aunt Martina was very special to me. I was named after her. We celebrated my birthday most of my early years together. She treated me like a queen. I would visit her at Givens when I would come home. Praise God we will see her again in heaven!
Martina was a dear friend since the mid 1940’s. My husband Dean and I always enjoyed being with her. We have lots of fond memories of her. Our children enjoyed being with her and spent some nights with her. Our daughter Selma Martina Carter is named in her honor. I visited her several times at Givens and was amazed at how sharp she would be. We also know she is in heaven because she told us many times of her walk with Jesus daily and her desire to follow Him. We will miss her.
