Mary Ann Brackett, born in Morganton on November 13, 1939, to the late Robert Ernest and Fannie Anderson Brackett, passed away on February 13, 2022.

She was a graduate of Lees McRae College with a secretarial degree. Her first job was at Mission Hospital in the radiology department. She later worked for Asheville Neurological Associates and became their office manager. She was also the owner and operator of Brackett Lawn Services and a member of Esther Chapter of Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her brother, John Robert Brackett, of Marion; nephews, Neil Brackett (Shannon), of Marion, and Scott Brackett (Danielle), of Morganton; nieces, Susan Lambert and Lisa McGinn (Craig), both of Morganton.

A memorial service will be held at First Congregational Church of Christ, where she was a member, on Saturday, February 26, at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Benevolence Ministry of First Congregational Church, 20 Oak St., Asheville, NC 28801.

  3. Though many years since I last saw Mary Ann, I always looked forward to seeing her smile and her genuine love for people. She was always had a light in her that shined brightly. That light will be missed.

  4. We met Mary Ann a few years ago when we started attending First Congregational Church of Christ. She promptly arranged for us to start work with Habitat for Humanity. Always cheerful and helpful, she was a friend to many. We will miss her.
