Mary C. Jungen, 84, of Givens Estates, died Monday, November 24, 2008.
A native of Squirrel Hill, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Katherine Rowan Cassidy. She was a retired secretary with the U.S. Government and a member of St. Barnabas Roman Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Paul William Jungen; daughter, Kathryn Rose Kalaeta; son, Peter M. Jungen; grandson, Nikolas Kalaeta and two brothers, Thomas Cassidy of Clearwater, Florida and Bernard Cassidy of St. Petersburg, Florida.
A funeral mass will be said at 10:00 am Monday, December 1, 2008 at St. Barnabas Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at 12 noon.
The family will receive friends prior to the mass.

I had just begun to get to know Aunt Mary when she became ill and I regret that we didn’t have a chance to become better acquainted. It’s been my privilege to correspond with Uncle Paul for the past several years and I am grateful for that. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I have many fond memories of Aunt Mary. She always had a kind word for me and a warm smile. The picture of her is exactly how I will remember her – always smiling. My prayers are with her and Uncle Paul.
