Mary Florence Pierce Rogers, 87, of Asheville, died Saturday, May 6, 2017. Born in Houston, TX, Mary was a daughter of the late Thomas Jessie Pierce and Hattie Bell Bennett Pierce. She was also preceded in death by sisters Mary Elizabeth Pierce Alvey and Glenda Lou Pierce Brinkley. She was a member of Luther Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Rogers is survived by her brother, Tom Pierce and wife Sue, and by a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with Pastors Betty Drake and Ronald Dodson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Luther Pentecostal Church, Candler NC.
