Mary Frances Gatton

Mrs. Gatton was born in Buncombe County, was a daughter of the late Walter and Carrie Mae Ingle Curry, and was the mother of the late Martha Carolyn Gatton.  She was a nurses aid for a number of nursing homes and was a member of State Street Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Melrose Ray Gatton;  two daughters, Judy Ann Bishop of Candler and Rosalee Oakes of Morganton;  a son, Gary Lee Gatton of Warner Robbins, GA;  seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm Monday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Mike Hatton and Carroll Fox officiating.  Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends from 3 - 5 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
