Mary H. Reed

MARY H. REED Mary Heldman Reed, 82, of 303 Wesley Drive, Givens Estates, Asheville, died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at her home. Mrs. Reed was born in Washington Co., OH and was a daughter of the late Herman and Myra Hune Heldman. She was a member of Biltmore United Methodist Church. Mrs. Reed was a graduate of Ohio University and was an honorary member of the Southern Highlands Handicraft Guild. She loved nature and was active in needlework and photography. She and her husband lived in Clemson from 1950 to 1971. Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Dr. John K. Reed; two daughters, Ruth Reed and her husband Tom Fisher of Huntingdon, PA and Carol Janer and her husband Enrique of Fairfax Station, VA; three grandchildren, Michael Janer, Lisa Janer Gonzalez and Laura Janer; and two brothers, Clarence Heldman and Charles Heldman. Another brother, Richard Heldman preceded her in death. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Thomas Coke Chapel of Givens Estate with the Rev. Joe Fulk, the Rev. Ashley Crowder Stanley, and Mr. Richard Bellflower officiating.
