Fairview – Mary L. Searcy, 78, of Upper Brush Creek Road died Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at her residence. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late John Albert and Hettie Clay Searcy and was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Searcy. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and was employed with Communication Instruments with many years of service. Mary is survived by four sisters, Alice Ledford of Fairview, Lena Brooks of Black Mountain, Edith Worsham of Fletcher and Nancy Searcy of Fairview. She is also survived by many numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00p.m. Friday at Bethany United Methodist Church with the Reverends John Clements and H.D. Houck officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Thursday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian and also thirty minutes prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Bethany United Methodist Church 212 Bethany Church Road Fairview, NC 28730.
