Mary Lou Votipka, 57, of Leicester, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the CarePartners Solace Center.

A native of Buncombe Co., Mary is the daughter of Minnie Seay Manos and of the late Jeter Manos. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Daniel David Manos.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Chris Votipka; daughters, Kristie Davis Towe and husband Todd Towe and Laura Decarlo; sister, Betty Manos; brothers, Johnny Manos, Geter Ray Manos, Samuel Timothy Manos, and Earnest Prichard Manos; and grandchildren, Nathaniel Towe, Penelope Lowman, and Darrow Decarlo.

Her family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. on Monday, August 12. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Cody Reynolds will officiate. Burial will then take place at Newfound Baptist Church Cemetery.

  6. There are no words to express how much this breaks my heart!! Mary Lou was my best friend from the 3rd grade on through school. I love each and everyone of her brothers and her sister and her mom!! I will be keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers!! I will be praying for her husband, children and grandchildren also, I know the void in their lives is huge, no one can ever replace the sweet person she was
