Mary Lou Rios

Asheville ~ Mary Lou Chapman Rios, 65, of Asheville, died Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at her residence. A native of Pickens County, SC, Mrs. Rios was a daughter of the late Clara Ann Nix Chapman and Roy Benson Chapman and the wife of the late Joseph T. Rios. She was also preceded in death by a grandchild, Cheyenne Carney. Survivors include a daughter, Sheila Ann Rios of Asheville; a son Michael Derrick Thrasher of Arden; grandchildren, Justin, Joseph and Natasha; two sisters, Sue C. Waldrop of Clemson, SC and Jeanette Wallace of Pisgah Forest and a brother, John LaFoy Chapman of Asheville. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, February 21 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road with Rev. Jack R. Gassaway officiating.
