Mary Louise Ballew

Mary Louise Ballew, 91, of Asheville, was called Home by her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at the WNC Baptist Retirement Home. A native of Asheville, Mrs. Ballew was a daughter of the late James and Pernina Arwood Michaels. She was also preceded in death by her sons, James Herbert Ballew, Paul Gary Ballew, and Frederick Arthur Badgero; and by a grandson, Billy Joe Carroll, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Arthur Luther Ballew; children, Mary Carroll and husband Bill, of Asheville, Beatrice Keller, of Monroe, NC, Ronald Ballew, of Leceister, Elaine Paz and husband Boni, of Asheville, and Rickie Ballew, of Asheville; her granddaughter, Mary Stuart, whom she raised; 28 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service for Mrs. Ballew will be on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Groce Funeral Home Chapel on Patton Ave. with the Rev. Mark Penley officiating. Interment will follow at Bent Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home. The family expresses special appreciation to Joanne Moore (Maude) for her special care of Mrs. Ballew.
