Mary Louise Glance Harris, 85, of Asheville, died Monday, October 31, 2005 at Aston Park Healthcare Center. A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Marman and Lucinda Brown Glance. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Martin J. Harris who died in 1973. Mrs.Harris worked for Tyco for 23 years as an inspector. She was a member of Elkwood United Methodist Church and was an avid gardener who enjoyed children, birds, squirrels, and wildlife. She is survived by her son, Gary Joseph Harris of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Ashelawn Gardens with the Rev. Enoch Ball Jr. officiating. Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.

    We offer our most sincere condolences for the lost of your mother. we got to know her when my mom Ethel Worley was her roommate. Mary was a wonderful lady, I enjoyed talking with her and seeing her eyes light up when I brought her flowers. We will miss her, she was a joy to know.
