Mary Louise Patton, of Asheville, died Sunday, April 4, 2010. Mrs. Patton was born in Cleveland, OH and was a daughter of the late Albert and Barbara Kramer. For 53 years she was married to Donald James Patton, who died in 1993. Mrs. Patton moved to Asheville in 1956 and was a founding member of St. Eugene Catholic Church. She was a former member of the Country Club of Asheville. Throughout her life she enjoyed time spent with family, cooking, golf, and bridge. She is survived by three children, Karen Patton Poehlein of Asheville, Timothy James Patton and his wife, Margaret, of Charlotte and Mary Kathleen Frech and her husband, Albert, of Wayne, NJ; six grandchildren, Allison Poehlein, Sean Patton, Michael Frech, Veronica Westover, Brian Patton and Stephanie McConnell; and seven great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Fr. Edward J. Sheridan at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 10, at The Parish of St. Eugene. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to The Parish of St. Eugene Endowment Fund, 72 Culvern Street, Asheville, NC 28804, or to the John F. Keever Solace Center, CarePartners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting with the arrangements.

  3. I remember Mary Louise, when I was a child, she and her sisters Bootie and Babe helped my dad with me when my mom died. I always hopped into bed with them and they would read me the Sunday funnies.
