Mary Love Cauble Shelly, 78, formerly of Asheville, died peacefully Wednesday, January 7, 2004, at her home in Davidson.
Mrs. Shelly was born in Asheville on April 27, 1925, to the late Clarence and Edith Brown Cauble.
After graduating from Biltmore High School she spent two years in business school and went on to become a merchandise buyer and manager for the next 18 years. She later retired from Reeves Brothers where she served as personnel director for many years.
Mrs. Shelly is survived by her daughter, Mary Parris Fernanders, her beloved pet dog, Dooly, and her many friends whom she referred to as her “family of the heart”.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian, 72 Long Shoals Road with the Revs. Ron Brown and Gayle Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Churchyard, Fletcher.
Pallbearers will be Dick Siedenspinner, Bill Bingham, Jack Perkins, David Carpenter, Frank Murray, Reece Edwards, Jimmy Flynn, Tom Smith, Eric McCurry, and Jason VanEvery.
The family and friends would like to thank Hospice of Charlotte for their loving care of Mrs. Shelly.
