Mary Morrison Hayes

Mrs. Hayes, a homemaker, was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and was the daughter of the late Roy Morrison and Connie Alexander Morrison. She was the wife of the late Herbert D. “PeeWee” Hayes who died in 1979. Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by five sisters, three brothers and two grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Knight and her husband Gordon of Arden, Pat Banks and her husband, Calvin, of Hendersonville; a son, Harvey Hayes and his wife, Mildred, of Fletcher; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 9, 2000 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Rev. Roy W. Waldroup will officiate and interment will follow in Shepherd Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Friday, from 7:00-8:30 PM at the funeral home.
