Mary Louise Penland Hutchinson, 80, of Camp Wood, TX, formerly of Candler, died Thursday, April 3, 2003, after an eight year battle with Alzheimers Disease.
A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Marion and Emma Stone Penland and sister of the late Lawrence Penland.
She retired as a clerk at BASF in 1986 and worked several years for the Democratic Party in her precinct.
She is survived by her husband, Jackson B. Hutchinson; two sons, Edward Hutchinson of Camp Wood, TX and David Hutchinson of Raleigh, NC; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Rev. Neil Haynes officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
