Mary Scott Snyder went to glory on September 24, 2024, at the age of 77. She was cared for at Solace Hospice in Asheville, NC, at the time of her death.

Mary was the daughter of William and Nita Turner Scott of Spartanburg, SC. She and her twin sister, Sylvia, grew up in Spartanburg and attended Spartanburg High. Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. My Auny Mary is one of the most beautiful and intelligent people I have known in my lifetime. Watching her work with children, as a speech pathologist, and when she volunteered for children’s ministry helped inspire me to want to be a teacher. She was such a loving aunt snd great aunt to my boys. We will miss her very much.

  2. Mary was one of the kindest ladies I have ever met. I’ve had the great privilege of knowing her since our daughters were little girls. She will be greatly missed.

  3. It was an honor and a blessing to know Mary and her family. She was a strong and courageous woman. An inspiration for us all and a prividlege to know her

  4. Mary’s life sounds very much like a “Life Lived Well”. As I read through her Obituary I could see both of you as young children, both with a born Love of The Lord. I bet somewhere you’ve got photos of the two of you reading your Bible’s; heads tucked side by side in the sunlight. Now she is in the Light. God Loves all the little children.🎶. Mary is home. May God comfort you each and every day, dear Sylvia.
Many Warm Hugs and prayers suround you.

  5. I am so glad wonderful Mary is in Heaven with Jesus and suffering no more. She was a model for all Christians because she followed Jesus. She was so supportive and loving to her family and friends, as is her twin sister, Sylvia. May God comfort you, Nellie, and your children. May God bless you, Sylvia, and bless your whole family. I love you, Mary and Sylvia, and always will.

  6. Mary, loving called “Mops”, has been a dear Christian friend since meeting at Northwestern University in the summer of ’72. There was an immediate connection because of our shared faith. We never lived close to each other, but could pick up the phone and talk like we just saw each other the other day. Someday we will beable to talk and visit as often as we want and the Lord allows. Heaven will be that much sweeter knowing Mops is there waiting.
