Mary Wood Frady

Asheville ~ Mary Wood Frady, 78, of 5 Irwin St., died Monday, January 1, 2001 at a local nursing home.

A native of Buncombe County, Mrs. Frady was the daughter of the late Garfield Wood, Sr. and Lily Mae Boone Wood, and the wife of the late George “Fletcher” Frady.

Mrs. Frady worked as a machine operator for Enka, a cafeteria worker for Biltmore Elementary School, and also had been employed by Biltmore Dairy Co. She was a member of Fruits of Labor Worship Center.

Mrs. Frady is survived by one son, Wayne Reno of Asheville and two brothers, Garfield Wood of Skyland and Howard Wood of Candler.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 4, 2001 at Woodlawn Cemetery with Rev. William Warren and Rev. Jimmy Sales officiating.

Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is in charge of arrangements.
