Arden – Matthew Garrett Strickland, 14, passed away from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Tuesday, January 1, 2013.
A native of Buncombe County, Matt was the son of Ann MacSorley Strickland and the late James C. Strickland. Matt was a freshman at T.C. Roberson High School and loved all things outdoors including biking, skateboarding and music.
In addition to his mother, Matt is survived by a brother, Jason Edward Glenn of Asheville and the loving family he lived with, Danny and Sydney Glover and their five daughters, Jessica, Christina, Meredith, Julia Hailey and Nikki. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and a community of friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 Sunday at Biltmore Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Eblen Charities (eblencharities.org).

It has been several years since we worked together at TDP Electronics. I remember Matt when he was a little boy. I pray that God will give you strength and comfort during this time. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. If I can help you in anyway please do not hesitate to contact me.

Syd and Danny, I am so sorry for your loss of this young man Matt.I only met him once but it was enough to let me know what a loving spirit he was….God has his ways and reasons…we don’t underand them sometimes but they are all part of his plan…Matt is ok…know that..Blessings on you and your family.

Well we was not actually real close but it would always seem as though we was because the way he made everyone feel he’d make everyone laugh and was always a friendly character he felt like a brother and was a good guy

MY heart goes out to the families of david matt and shawn. they were such good kids and have had such an impact in my live in the time that I had got to know them. I pray that god in heaven blesses them and lets them know how much we miss them. gone but never forgotten.
He will be very missed i didnt know him personaly but i knew one of his friends that died. he will be missed.
