Fletcher - Maud Franklin Hill, 83, of 15 Old Fort Road, Fairview, died Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Universal Healthcare Center in Fletcher. Born April 2, 1926 in Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Troy Marcus and Peggy Pinkerton Franklin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Harvey Hill, Sr., who died in 2006; one sister, Edna F. Harris and two brothers, Howard Franklin and Troy M. “Bud” Franklin, Jr. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Nancy and Ronald Beck of Hendersonville and Inez and Lonnie Taylor, Jr. of Spartanburg, SC and son, William Harvey Hill, Jr. of Sumter, SC; five grandchildren, Tanya L. Taylor and Erin L. Taylor, both of Fairview, Stephanie L. Beck of Raleigh, Troy F. Taylor of Spartanburg, SC and Andrea L. Hill of Weaverville as well as two sisters, Edith F. Williams and Mary F. Kuykendall, both of Fairview. Mrs. Hill retired from Avis Rent-A-Car and was an honorary member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fairview Fire Department. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Emmas Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Fairview. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
