Maurice Richard Clark, 77, of 2350 Old Hwy. 20, Alexander, died Friday, June 23, 2000 in a Asheville Hospital.
A native and long time resident of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Bascombe and Dora Bridges Clark. He was an US Army Veteran of WW II, and was self employed as a rewinder on electric motors, starters and generators working both in Asheville and in Jacksonville, FL where he lived from 1955 to 1963. He was also a former
employee of Wades TV & Appliance Co. and had always operated a farm.
Mr. Clark is survived by his wife, Brenda Henson Clark; a daughter Gena Casas and her husband
Kenneth Whitten of Jacksonville, FL; step-children, Danny Norton of Marshall, Donna Drury and her husband Robert of Asheville; nephew,
Harold W. Rogers of Alexander; great-niece, Cynthia E. Rogers of Charlotte and a number of cousins.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home with
Reverend Wayne Sorrells officiating.Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery.
His family will receive friends 7-8:30 Sunday at the funeral home.
