Melvin Porter Cagle, Jr., 73, of Candler, died on Sunday, November 6, 2011, at his residence. A native of Buncombe Co., he was a son of the late Melvin Porter Cagle, Sr., and Neley Propest Cagle. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Matha Cagle and Betty Hagar. With his wife, Hester, Mr. Cagle owned and operated both Cagle Construction Co., and M&H Discount Store, in Brevard. He is survived by Hester Cagle, his wife of 55 years; daughter, Joyce Cagle Glenn and husband Eric Ray Glenn, of Candler; sons, Daniel Lee Cagle and wife Linda, and Melvin Homer Cagle and wife Tena, both of Candler; granddaughter, Keisha Stillwell; grandson, Dalton Tyler Glenn; and three great-granddaughters. A funeral service for Mr. Cagle will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday in the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave., with the Revs. Charles and Gerald Sprinkle officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to CarePartners Hospice, P.O.
