The family of Michael Robinson of Asheville, NC is saddened to announce his passing on September 24 at the age of 53 years.

He will also be dearly missed by his friends at Mtn. Zion Baptist Church and Rogers Park Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Anne Harris Robinson; and his father, Pastor Cecil E. Robinson.

Mike was born in Asheville, NC. He lived in Charlotte, NC for several years and moved to Morganton, NC in 2020. He loved and was good at every sport he ever attempted; football, basketball, baseball, wrestling, golf and more. He sang beautifully. He was kind and loving towards everyone and always had a joke to tell. His sense of humor and infectious laugh will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Most importantly, he loved God and his family fiercely.

“Dad had a passion for teaching God’s word and I always admired that about him. He was a good Christian man. He tried his best to always be there for me, and he always reminded me how proud he was of me. He supported all of my dreams and always gave me words of encouragement that will always stay in my heart. He was silly, he’d always crack jokes and make me laugh, and he always knew how to make my day brighter. Most of all, he loved and cared about us deeply and he showed it any way he could. I know that he is still cheering me on from Heaven, until we meet each other again someday.” Savannah Robinson

  14. Mike & I were friends since high school…I remember when we could drive to school..he had a red Camaro and I rode with him some…his favorite color must have been red…a red Camaro…a red motorcycle…he also drove a red big rig…let’s not forget his red hair…maybe his name should have been changed to red…I remember when we both had motorcycles that we would ride on the BRP…along the trip we would switch bikes and ride…those were great times…he would always crack jokes and I told him he should pursue a comedy career…when I would say to him something 3 times fast…I would say…say that 3 times fast…then he would say…that…that…that…funny man…he was a great pencil drawer…he would text me his drawings and they were wonderful…I encouraged him to pursue drawing because one may never know what opportunities would lie ahead for great artists…I also remember when he told me about reconnecting with his way back school sweetheart and how he was going to marry her in a low part in his life…his life changed for the better…Maryann would go with him on trips in the big red rig…they really enjoyed being together on the road…i also know he loved his kids and would go see them as much as he could…I’m sure his kids will go down the right path’s in life because Mike did…I look forward to seeing him again in Heaven…maybe we could ride bikes on the streets of Gold…of course he would have to ride a red one…it’s a challenge to find good long time friends in this age we live in…he will be missed!
