Michael Geoffrey Parentice, 79, of Asheville, died Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Hospice Solace Center, following a brief illness.
A native of San Francisco, CA, he was a son of the late Jess and Anita Schmetschek Parentice.
Michael is survived by his wife, Mary Miller Parentice; one daughter, Linda Parentice of CT; three sons, Jeffrey Parentice (Paula) of IL, Gregory Parentice (Beth) of PA and Douglas Parentice (Heather) of CA; one sister, Gabriella Nearhouse of MO; one brother, Jonathan Parentice of AZ, as well as nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A service celebrating Michael's life will be held at his home at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael's memory to CarePartners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
