Michael Joseph Carter

Michael Joseph Carter, 61, of Black Mountain, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016, at his residence. Born in Oklahoma City, OK, Micheal was a son of the late Frank Reid and June Broshar Carter. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Michelle, Steven and Eric Carter. He was a retired journeyman painter and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Carter is survived by his common-law wife of 32 years, Brenda Hensley; daughters, Charity Carter and Rachel Ruit; step-sons, Pritchard and Jason Hensley; sister, Paulette Carter; brother, Paul Carter; and grandchildren, Starr Carter, Leif Ruit, and Rivers Ruit. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
