    Sunday morning, Connie Brown thoughtfully called me about your mother’s passing. Unfortunately, there wasn’t time enough for me to change plans in order to visit you that afternoon, but I did start praying right then.

    I’m very sorry for your loss, as I understand you were close. I’ve lost my dad, but not yet my mom, so I partially understand your feelings — but that doesn’t take away your pain or that permanent vacancy in the heart.

    Make you take at least some comfort from having had so many years of indelible memories of her. A mom’s legacy has a way of continuing to live through her children and grandchildren. You were blessed.
