Mildred Thomas Kanipe

Asheville - Mildred Thomas Kanipe of Dogwood Grove, died Thursday, February 3, 2000. A native of Abingdon, VA, she was the daughter of the late Jess Hampton Thomas and Margie Kelly Henry Thomas and wife of the late Hubert Lee Kanipe, who died in 1996. Mrs. Kanipe was a charter member of Groce United Methodist Church and retired from Kearfott where she worked as an industrial nurse. A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2 pm in Groce United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. J. Alexander Ward. Interment will be Monday in the Knollkreg Memorial Park in Abingdon, VA. Memorials may be made to Groce United Methodist Church, 954 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is in charge of arrangements.
