Asheville - Miriam Lindquist Christianson Misiewicz, 85, of Asheville, died Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Health Care Center. A native of Worcester, MA, she was born on April 2, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Frank David and Dinah Elizabeth Rich Lindquist and wife of the late J. Harold Christianson, who died in 1970 and the late Lt. Col. (Ret.) Chester J. Misiewicz, who died in 2009. She also was preceded in death by her brother, David Lindquist of Golden, Colorado. Miriam attended Cornell University where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She served as a docent for the Worcester Art Museum, MA, and worked at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester, MA as a business office assistant for many years. She was an active member of the P.E.O. sisterhood which provides educational opportunities for female students worldwide. She, like her grandfather, Edwin Rich, and granddaughter, Jessie Christianson, shared a love of painting and photography. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing with her late husband Chester because she said it made her feel like a young girl and she loved traveling the world exploring many cultures. Mimi, as she was known by the family, left Massachusetts and retired to homes in Bradenton, FL and Brevard, NC. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She is survived by her two children, a son, Dr. Dana Christianson and his wife, Cathy, and their three children, Jessie, Eric and David of Asheville and a daughter, Linda Prinsen and her husband, Clay, and their three children, Matheu, Allan and Cleyton of Langdon, NH; and her sister, Barbara Lindquist Jones of Fitzwilliam, NH. She is also survived by her three step-children; son, Roger Misiewicz and his wife, Carol, of Pickering, Ontario, Canada and their four children, David, Zoe, Kira and Daniel; son, Reverend Chester J. Misiewicz, Jr., pastor of Blessed Sacrament Church in Worcester, MA and daughter, Barbara Misiewicz Wrenn, Of Sutton, MA and her two children, Lisa and Rose Anna, and two great-grandsons, Brayden Frusher and Connor Wood and many nieces nephews and great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on April 23, 2011 at 10:30 am in the Deerfield Health Care Center Chapel with the Rev. Morgan Gardner officiating. The family will receive friends in the chapel following the service. In addition, a celebration of her life will be held in Worcester, MA in July with the Rev. Chester J. Misiewicz officiating the private burial service. She will be buried in All Faith Cemetery in Worcester, MA with her first husband, Harold.
