James Eric Redden, 71, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the VA Hospital.
Mr. Redden's wife, Frankie Jeannette Smith Redden passed away on September 19, 2018 at Mountain Home Health and Rehab in Hendersonville. Due to them both passing within 24 hours of each other a memorial service is scheduled for both on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church in downtown Asheville.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church until 11:30. Burial will follow at 12 at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.

John, I want to share my sincere condolences to you and your family, at the passing of your father, Eric and his wife, Jeannette. Eric worked with my husband, Larry Crouch, and were good friends. When Larry died, Eric assisted me in ordering some materials for a project Erik and I were doing and was very kind to us. Eric was a fine man. May God Bless you during this sad time of loss and guide you through these next few days and beyond.
We are sorry for your losses but wanted to express once again the fondness and love we had for your dad and miss frankie. We were glad we got to meet you and were part of this process……fond memories ……

Eric and I were classmates at Rosa Edwards Elementary School and Hendersonville High School in the 60s. My deepest sympathy to his family. Eric and I had some good times.
