Myra Byron Burris, 91, died Thursday, April 8, 2010 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock.
A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Jack and Lora Deweese Reed. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Asbury Burris who died in 1968.
Myra is survived by two daughters, Barbara Burris Searcy and her husband, James, of Arden and Mary McGraw of Hendersonville; two sons, Cordell "A.C." Burris of Arden and Fred Roberts and his wife, Carolyn, of Asheville; two sisters, Hulda Hunnicutt of Fuquay Varina, NC and Lucia Sandholzer of FL; one brother, Welzie Reed of Asheville as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Groce Funeral at Lake Julian. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery.

so sorry to hear of her death she was like a mother to me and was my best friend i ever had i will miss her forever and i will never forget her and the good times we had together when she stayed with me no one can ever take her place
