Myrna Watts Duckett

myrna duckett
Myrna W. Duckett, 53, of Leicester, died Saturday, January 20, 2007, at Memorial Campus Mission Hospitals. She is survived by her husband, Michael Duckett, of Leicester; her daughter, Angela D. Austin and husband Michael, of Candler; and her mother, Mrs. Gladys Watts, of Asheville. She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Ramsey, of Asheville, who died in 1997, and by her father, Mr. Luther Watts, who died in 1994. She will be sadly missed by her family, and all those who had the opportunity to know her. Myrna was an inspiration to those who met her, and displayed a sense of strength beyond measure. Her strong faith and will carried her through many obstacles, and her dedication to her family and to helping others was constant throughout her life. She was an excellent mother to her two children and loving wife and daughter. In memory of her son, Myrna had sponsored a child through Christian Children?s Fund for the last nine years. She loved being able to provide her child with donations and gifts, and loved receiving letters and pictures over the years. She was very proud of the accomplishments of her little girl. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. A graveside ceremony will be held the following day at 2:00 p.m. at Green Hills Cemetery in Asheville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her sponsored child, Erika, at Christian Children?s Fund (1-800-776-6767, Child #744225) or to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY, 10016.

i feel sad for your loss but i know heaven will be a happier place. i remember going to myrna’s home when i was around 7or 8 and myrna gave me a iron and ironing board. it was the greatest toy i could ever image,
i told her how much it meant to me and she said well you are special. i never forget that. but she was special too very special. i hope when you are sad with her gone, remember her smile. i only met her twice and i still remember it today.

  7. Dear Mike,
I did not have the priviledge of knowing your wife and only know you from stopping at the stand. But if she was anything like you, she was a fine lady. Please be comforted by the good memories you hold in your heart. You are in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time.
    Sincerely, Carolyn
