Arden ~ Myrtle Lee Clontz Gosnell, 87, of 300 Watson Road, died Saturday, April 8, 2006 at the home of her granddaughter, Kathy Lindsey in Hendersonville. A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Myrtle Pressley Clontz and was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Gosnell, a sister, Dot Frady and a grandson, Jamie Shirley. She worked most of her life as a nurse with Mountain Sanitarium and St. Joseph Hospitals. She was a member of Sunnyview Baptist Church and of the Fletcher Women’s Club and Auxiliary for WW I Army Veterans. She was also a member of the Secret Sisters of Skyland Baptist Church and of the WMU. She is survived by her son, Allen Lindsey and his wife Jackie of Clio, Ala; two sisters, Peggy Smith of Asheville and Tommy Ann Ledbetter of Fletcher; a brother, Jack Clontz of Arden; six grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with the Rev. Donald Hare officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard in Fletcher. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 PM Monday at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home of Peggy Smith, 116 Mills Gap Road, Arden. Pallbearers will be Keith Grimes, Benny Frady, Steve Smith, David Smith, Rick Smith and Kevin Smith. Memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
