Nancy Earley Todd, 80, of Candler, NC, passed away Wednesday morning, March 14, 2018 at her home after a period of declining health. She was born July 3, 1937 in Candler, NC to the late Harold and Mattie Earley. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Norman "Buddy" Todd; her three sons, William Alan Todd (Carol), Nathan Vaughn Todd (Cynthia), and Mark Christopher "Chris" Todd (Robin); seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Nancy leaves behind many close friends in the Candler community who always felt welcome to drop in her home for a visit and a glass of iced tea. Nancy was especially close to all of her cousins who would often gather at her home for good food and laughter. Nancy was a lifelong member of Liberty Baptist Church and was actively involved in the Embrace ministry there. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Roger Boone officiating. Burial will follow at Hice Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

  4. It’s time to celebrate, she will be missed but she is with Jesus and would not want us to be sad. She was a wonderful person and friends to everyone. If you new her you loved her. I have a lot of memories I will cherish and look back on all the times she made me laugh. She made the best sweet tea. To all the family, you had a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother cherish the time you had with her.

  7. Uncle Buddy, Nathan, Chris and Alan and family we are so sorry to hear of Aunt Nancy’s passing. Heaven gained a sweet angel. She will forever be in our hearts. We loved her dearly. John and I are so glad we got to see you all Christmas weekend and give her a hug and tell her we loved her. We had plan to come by in a week or two to see you all but, God had a need of a special angel. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and we will see you soon.   11. I have such wonderful memories of Aunt Nancy & am deeply saddened to learn of her passing. My condolences go to the family. Though my daughter didn’t share the same memories, she was saddened by the news of her passing as well. We all loved her
