Nancy Weldon

Anne Marie (Nancy) Weldon, 82, died Monday, August 23, 2010, at Highland Farms Retirement Center. Miss Weldon was born September 25, 1927, in Conshocken, PA, to the late Arthur P. and Anna T. Came Weldon. She received her Master's Degree from Boston University and was a pioneer in the trucking industry by holding managerial positions both with Hertz and with Avis leasing companies. She was a member of the Basilica of St. Lawrence, D.M., active in the UNCA College for Seniors, and particularly enjoyed performing with "the Rascals" dance group. She is survived by three sisters, Sister Maria Goretti Weldon, Asheville, Sister M. Gertrude Weldon (both Sisters of Mercy), Belmont, and Helen Orlandi of Grass Valley, CA; a brother, John T. Weldon of Pelham, NH, and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will gather from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue, during which time the Rev. Fr. C. Morris Boyd will lead a prayer service. Funeral Masses will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Convent in Belmont and in Lowell, MA, where Miss Weldon will be interred.
