Fletcher ~ Neal Robin McDonald, 53, of Wild Sage Court, Fletcher, died unexpectedly on Monday, October 3, 2005. He was the son of the late James McDonald and survived by his mother, Lois Griffin McDonald of Forest City. He was owner of N. McDonald Construction Company, Inc. and a member of Foster Seventh - day Adventist Church. He is survived by his wife of five years, Donna Hoffman McDonald of Fletcher; two daughters, Amy Achata of Orlando, FL and Jennifer Friday Peters of Fletcher; two sons, Skipp Leal McDonald of Arden and William Scott Friday of Fletcher; one granddaughter, Ana Achata; two sisters and one brother. A memorial service will be held on Friday 8:00 P.M. at the Lela Patterson Auditorium in Fletcher, with Pastor Bryan Aalborg officiating. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road in Arden is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Park Ridge Hospital Foundation P.O. Box 1569, Fletcher, NC 28732

    I regret that I was not able to attend his memorial service last Friday as I was out of town on business.

  6. Neal was one-of-a-kind. He blessed the lives of so many with his encouraging words, his patient listening, his glorious smile, and his kind and gentle nature.

    I am a better person for having known him.

  11. We only worked with Neal through this past summer and found him to be straightforward and honest. He was a welcomed pleasure to work with and just have conversation with, Neal had visited us on the job at ‘lot #2 Walnut Cove’ at about 4:00 pm that afternoon and he was energetic as always. We were so shocked and saddened Tuesday morning when we learned of the tragic news. Neal was so good to us and we appreciate that. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
