Nell Freeman

Nell Jones Freeman, 93, of Asheville, died Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center. A native of Enka-Candler, she was a daughter of the late John and Elsie Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Freeman, sisters, Irene Smith, Isabelle Robinson, and Demia Hamilton, and brothers, Russell and Howard Jones. Mrs. Freeman lived at the Asheville Terrace Apartments for approximately 30 years, where she was a member of the Asheville Terrace Tornadoes Shuffleboard Team. She also enjoyed bingo, bluegrass, reading, and was of the baptist faith. Mrs. Freeman is survived by her niece, Diane Smith; nephew, Marvin Jones; great-nieces Crystal Walker and Stephanie Miller; and several great-great nieces and nephews, family and friends, who loved her dearly. Graveside services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
