Nellie Augusta Sluder, 83, died Wednesday, May 16, 2001. Miss Sluder was born in Asheville and was a daughter of the late James M. and Gussie Ensley Sluder. She worked for more than 50 years for the state of NC and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was an officer and member of the Rhododendron Club.

She is survived by two brothers, Frank P. Sluder of Fountain Hills, AZ, and James M. Sluder, Jr. of Dallas, TX.

A memorial service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Buddy Corbin officiating.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is in charge of the arrangements.
