Nellie Wright Baker, 86, of 25 Raleigh Road, Asheville, died Saturday, August 11, 2001, in a Fairview nursing home.

Mrs. Baker was born in Gaston Co. and was a daughter of the late John and Flora Chapman Wright. She was married for 46 years to Elzie Lee Baker who died March 24, 2001, and was associated with Baker and Hudson Nursery.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Connie Hudson of Sun City West, AZ; one sister, Mildred Westley of Asheville, and one brother, James Wright of Asheville.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday at Gashes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Pierce officiating.

Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
