Nichole “Rusti” Cogdill passed away in her home in Asheville NC on October 6, 2023.
Nichole was born to H. Russell “Rusty” Cogdill and Diane Cogdill and was a native of Buncombe County.
Nichole held an associate’s degree in Liberal Arts from UNCA and was a huge Tennessee Volunteers football fan.
Nichole lit up the room with her sweet personality and laughter. Her beauty was matched by very few. She was truly loved by so many. We are forever going to wish for her nurturing ways and the love she gave to us all. There will never be a day she is not missed.
Nichole is survived by her father, Rusty Cogdill of Weaverville; mother, Diane Cogdill, of Johnson City TN; companion, David Trexler, of Asheville; brother, Kenny Boling, of Johnson City, TN; step-mother, Elaine Williams of Fletcher; step-grandmother, Jean Cogdill; aunts, Penny Cogdill and Julie Cogdill; cousins, Timmy and Michael; great-aunt, Sue Rodger, of Charlotte, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
Nichole was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandparents Julius and Lela Cogdill, grandfather, Harold Cogdill; maternal grandparents, Cleaveland and Janette Honeycutt; and her brother, Daniel Honeycutt.
Nichole was also preceded in death by her K-9 soulmate, Will.
A memorial service will be held at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian, 72 Long Shoals Road, Arden NC 28704 at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12.
The family requests that memorials to be made to First Step Farm in Candler NC in memory of Nichole Cogdill; P.O. Box 1450, Candler, NC 28715.

So sorry to hear of Rusti passing. Just wanted you to know that I will be praying for you and your family in these days!! I remember both of you so well because you were so kind to me!!
Nichole was a very special person and will be missed by so many. Although we grew apart through the years, I share many sweet childhood memories with her and will always remember the good ol days with her and her contagious laughter. I am so so incredibly sorry for your loss and I am praying for peace and comfort to you all during this difficult time.
