Resided in:
Asheville, NC
Nikolay Babak, 54, of Asheville, NC went to be with his Savior on December 15th, 2024. He was born on April 30th, 1970 to Dmitriy and Vera Babak. He was the sixth child of ten among five brothers and five sisters. He was married to Liliya Babak, and they had three children – Dina Phillips, Mila Babak, and Oleg Babak.
Nikolay grew up in the town of Malinsk, in the Rivne region of Ukraine. There he served his community and military. He later migrated to New York before finding his home and planting roots in Asheville, NC in the summer of 1992.
On June 22nd, 1996 he married Liliya Stelmakh and God blessed them with three children. They have been married for 28 years.
Nikolay was a dedicated husband and father. He treasured his family and others more than life itself. Throughout his life, he worked to glorify Jesus. Nikolay raised his household to love and seek Jesus Christ. He was the ultimate provider for this family and took great care of them. He dedicated many days to serving the Pisgah Valley Retirement Community residents and others throughout the greater Asheville area. He loved working on projects around the house and on his property. As his business card states, he was a professional Honey Do Man and could tackle any project. His greatest passion however was his family. He leaves a legacy of love like no other.
He will be missed greatly by many. He is survived by his wife Liliya, his two daughters, Dina and her husband Austin, Mila, and his son, Oleg.
The viewing service will be held at Blessed Hill Church on Friday, December 20th at 6:00 p.m. The burial service will be held at Green Hills Cemetery on Saturday, December 21st at 11:00 a.m.
